Inspired by Nature...
My ART consist of a body of work over 28 years living from suburbs on LI, NY to the mountains and lakes of NH. Back to my Ocean, more has been added to my life and I have created the space for more to show up. What else is possible now?

ARTIST STATEMENT
My Abstracts, Primitives, Florals, Asian and Dreamscapes are a statement in them selves of the love I have for the beauty and charm of our natural environment, be it people, places or things reflecting that beauty and brilliance of nature and man. This art brings me great joy!
Even though I begin each piece with a realistic idea, as it progresses, it develops into a fantasy abstract, landscape, floral, person or dream. I only can hope to bring to the viewer that peacefulness, brightness, humor and childlike nature as well as a bit of fantasy and wonderment into their hearts, lives and homes.
I cannot limit myself into any one single mode of expression: there is unlimited versatility in my themes. Using a mixture of watercolors, textile dyes, German light-fast inks, acrylics and wax, my work is categorized as mixed-media, but the verve and glow of my paintings puts them in a class by themselves.
As I share my love of art and respect for our environment (including people) through my paintings, my intention is to connect the JOY it brings me to create art, with others’ hearts as the oneness that we truly BE In-JOY as well.
Description of Technique
I am a self-taught artist trained in textile design at FIT in NYC. Working in Free-lance textile design studios, I developed my unique wax-resist designs on rice paper that I later expanded into many of my painting using this technique.
I combine realism with fantasy in a joyful style. They are painted on rice paper with copper and brass implements called “tjanting needles” and with brushes as well. Molten wax flows freely onto the paper and, as it does, it allows my imagination full rein.
The wax will resist paint and act as a barrier to separate the color. Pen and ink is used to highlight certain areas. The use of rice paper allows for a greater variety of tones and intensity of color. Once the wax is removed the colors become translucent, which adds an extra dimension.
